Linda H. Humes holds a Masters Of Arts Administration from New York University.  Ms. Humes is an adjunct professor in the Mass Communication Department at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, NY. She is the founder and Executive Director of Yaffa Cultural Arts Inc, a not for profit organization specializing in multicultural folk art and arts in education based in New York City. As a performer, Ms. Humes was the entertainment reporter for PM Magazine, one of the Melmanettes in the Larry Bud Melman Show and has many commercial and industrial film credits. Ms. Humes performs nationally and internationally as The Urban Griot (a French term for storyteller) and  facilitates workshops for children and adults. 
 
 
 

Text Box: Griot– pronounced (Gree-oh) is the French term given to the oral historians or storytellers of West Africa. In the traditions of the West African Storyteller, Ms. Humes presents performances, lecture demonstrations and workshops for adults and children.
